Amy is founder, director & webmistress of the School of Living Dreams. She has a Master's of Arts degree and has completed most coursework for her Doctorate in Communication and Culture. As a clairvoyant healer, dreamtender, wilderness rites of passage guide, professor of human (& "other-than-human") relations, poet, former actress in film & theatre, photographer of light & darkness, she dances on the edge of many realities & worlds.
Amy has plunged ever deeper in studies of soul, myth and magic by studying Jungian psychotherapy and process work in depth psychology. In 2005 she attended a 6th month clincial training program in Dreamwork called "Dreamtending" with Dr. Aizenstat, President of Pacifica Graduate Institute, and studied "embodied dreamwork" with Robert Bosnak, a Zurick trained Jungian Analyst and dream veteran for 35 years. She also attended intensive workshops with Amy and Arnold Mindell -- the renowned Jungian trained analyst, world work/conflict resolution expert and founder of the Portland based Process Training Institute. All three methods allow for dream-re-entry and blend psychoanalytic methods with traditional shamanic wisdom. Amy incorporates all these methods into her psychic reading sessions and vision quest guiding.
For the last 20 years, Amy has been designing and teaching communication courses for universities and corporations, nationally & internationally. A"wandering taoist", she has lived in Hong Kong, Korea, Israel, Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Hungary, Germany & USA. Her community service/healing work has included helping Vietnamese & Ethiopian refugees, disadvantaged children at Mother Theresa's orphanage in India, suicidal crisis callers in rural America, abused woman in Hungary & Bosnia, & people everywhere suffering from drug addictions, depression & feelings of hopelessness.
Now Amy resides in Santa Barbara Ca much of the year, not far from her twin sister, psychic and book author Debra Katz. She lives with her love, Eric Lauderdale, a master woodworker and guitar-makerShe offers eco-spiritual counseling sessions that integrate dreamtending with clairvoyance, zen tarot, depth psychology & process work. She leads workshops, vision quests & dreamgroups here & across the country. She is also a Holistic Realtor, helping people follow their dreams in very practical ways. Amy still spends several months each year in Alaska, communing with grizzly bears and eagles, and fulfilling her greatst calling by teaching holistic communication to active duty service members and warriors, through the for the University of Alaska, & guiding wilderness rites of passage.
Connecting deeply with other people & all that is natural; celebrating life within & without; Speaking her own truth and listening deeply to the truth that is crying out to be heard in others; weaving dreams & teaching others how to weave their own for the betterment of Self and Community: this is what motivated Amy to create The School of Living Dreams.
